This privacy notice explains how CHIBURS — Chicken & Burgers ("we", "us") collects and uses your personal information. We comply with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and Spam Act 2003.

What we collect

When you sign up to our launch list at chiburs.com, we collect:

• Email address — so we can email you launch updates and promotions
• IP address — automatic, used as legal evidence of your consent
• Browser/device info — automatic, for security and abuse prevention
• Signup timestamp — when you joined the list

When you place an order, we additionally collect:

• Name, phone number, email — so the kitchen can call/email you about pickup readiness
• Order details — items + total, kept with the order record

Payment information (card details) is handled directly by Stripe — we never see, store, or transmit your card number, CVV, or expiry. Stripe charges your card and tells us only "paid".

Why we collect it

• To send you launch updates, weekly specials, and promotions for CHIBURS
• To prove (if asked by ACMA) that you consented to receive marketing emails
• To prevent abuse of our signup form (rate-limiting, spam prevention)
• To prepare and pickup-coordinate your order

We do not share, sell, or rent your information to any third party for marketing.

How long we keep it

We keep your subscription details until you unsubscribe. After you unsubscribe, we retain a record of your unsubscribe (email + timestamp) for up to 90 days for audit purposes, then it is hard-deleted. Order records are kept for up to 7 years to comply with Australian tax recordkeeping requirements (ATO).

Where it's stored

Your data is stored on our own server (MongoDB) hosted on Vultr in Sydney, Australia. It is not synced to any third-party CRM. Order confirmation and welcome emails are sent through Gmail (Google) and/or Resend — they see your email address at the time of sending. Card payments are processed by Stripe (Stripe stores their own copy under their PCI-DSS compliant infrastructure).

Cookies, analytics and third-party scripts

This site uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how customers use our site (page views, which menu items are clicked, completed orders). GA4 sets cookies and may collect: anonymised IP address, browser/device type, pages visited, and ecommerce events (add-to-cart, purchase). We do not link these analytics to your email or name, and we do not use this data for advertising. To opt out, install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

We also load Google Fonts and the Stripe Checkout script for payments. We do not use Facebook Pixel, TikTok Pixel, or any advertising trackers.

Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act, you can:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct any incorrect information
• Delete your information entirely (right to erasure)
• Unsubscribe from emails at any time — every email we send has an unsubscribe link

To request access, correction, or deletion, email kys15487@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days.

Spam Act 2003 compliance

Every marketing email from CHIBURS includes:

• Our identification (business name, location)
• A working unsubscribe link
• Confirmation that you opted in via this website

If you receive an email from us that doesn't have these, it is not from us — please report it to kys15487@gmail.com.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, the date below changes. Material changes will be announced via email to subscribers.
